Monterey Place

The former “Elm Haven” housing superblock was transformed into Monterey Place as part of the federal Hope VI Urban Revitalization Program. Blades & Goven consulted with the development team to design a traditional neighborhood with 365 units of public housing with a new elementary school and community center. In addition to assisting with the Master Plan, Blades & Goven was responsible for the design of all site improvements, regulatory permitting and contract administration. The project received a 2003 Design Award from the Connecticut AIA.
