Sterling Elementary School
Consulting to the architect, Blades & Goven provided site design services for this new K-Grade 5 school on a wooded, undeveloped site in Sterling, Connecticut. The site’s topography and extensive wetlands necessitated a linear arrangement of athletic fields and other site amenities. A double-loop road system allows for separated bus and vehicle DROP-off zones in close proximity to the main entrance. An adjacent paved play area integrates with an informal running track and provides overflow parking for special events.
